✩ What is considered a rarepair?➵ A rarepair for this year's run will be considered as a ship on AO3 with less than 1k works on AO3 when the otp:true filter is applied. Check out the list of ships not accepted here!
➵ otp:true helps to filter out works where multiple relationships are tagged. This is to mitigate the issue with rarepair ships often getting tagged in the background of a more popular ship fic, thus skewing the statistics, as much as possible.
➵ For more clarification on AO3 search filters, check out this guide!


✩ How do I participate?➵ Following the dates and prompts on the prompts list, you may create a work centering a rarepair of your choice. Works may be, but not limited to: fanfiction, fanart, moodboards, gifsets, video edits, and more!
➵ Please note that AI generated works and stolen works are not accepted.
➵ You are welcome to bump old works for the event if they happen to fit the prompts.


✩ What kind of content can I post?➵ This event is accepting: SFW and NSFW works. Note that only those 18+ may submit NSFW works.
➵ This event is not accepting: Works containing incest, rape/non-con, adult/minor ships, NSFW content involving minors.
➵ If the character has no canonical age (Gin, Tetchou, Jouno etc.), use your best discretion and depict them as you see fit.
➵ You will not be judged for what you create outside this event. You may still create pieces involving the disallowed topics, but they will not be reblogged/reposted on social media.


✩ Are collab works, polyamorous ships, and platonic ships allowed?➵ Yes to all three!
➵ Poly ships involving popular ships (e.g. KuniChuuZai, AkuAtsuLucy) are all allowed, so long as the work's focus is on the poly ship as a whole or on a rarepair within the poly ship.


✩ Does OC/reader x BSD character count? What about crossover ships with a different fandom?➵ No to both. The main focus of your work should be on a rarepair with BSD characters only.


✩ Can I post my work on other platforms, e.g. tiktok, instagram?➵ Sure!


✩ Why wasn't my work reposted/reblogged?➵ There is only one mod for this event, so if it's been more than a day, shoot the account a DM/ask, I might have missed it!

Posting guidelines

✩ Posting to social media (tumblr, twitter, bluesky)➵ Tag your works as #bsdrarepairfest2026 as well as tag the respective account @bsdrarepairfest when posting.
➵ Make sure you also tag the appropriate content warnings, and NSFW if necessary.


✩ Posting to AO3➵ Post your works under the collection @bsdrarepairfest2026, which will be opened during posting period.


✩ Early/Late submissions/Timezones➵ Early submissions will not be accepted.
➵ You may follow your own timezone.
➵ Late works will be accepted for up to 2 weeks.
➵ Late days are also allowed, e.g. posting a work for day 2 on day 5, but the other way round is not.

Ships not accepted

Ships with over 1k works on AO3 using the otp:true filter are not considered a rarepair and not accepted for this event.
(If a ship grows to have over 1k works during this event's creation period (i.e. 30th May - 20th September 2026), it will still be accepted.)
